when you suggest boycotting wal-mart you get all kinds of reactions like it just can't be done. it is hard to break from wal-mart after all they are so cheap. believe it or not, it's possible to do this. i know many of us suffer from wal-mart addiction but, i have gone a whole year without stepping a foot in any of their stores. their low prices are alluring and it is convenient to do all your shopping in one place; but, with planning and coupons, you can achieve the same result. I may even have saved by not going to wal-mart that year. consider this, when you go into the store do you ever just get what you went in for? wal-mart has that effect on many of us too. you go in but see the "bargain" and buy it, thinking you’re saving money when you wouldn't have bought it in the first place. so, instead of saving you actually spend more than you would.
now, I know it's within their "legal" right to do what they did to the Shank family but I absolutely believe that it is morally wrong of them. life is more than just business and money....it's about having compassion for fellow human beings. just imagine yourself in that family's shoes. according to the report wal-mart made 90 BILLION dollars last quarter.
their response by acting like their hands are tied is absurd. Let me say it again NINETY BILLION DOLLARS. if this is how wal-mart treats its employees just think how much more they care about the consumers.
if you believe as strongly as i do, please consider emailing wal-mart to voice your disgust to them.

Wow, what blatant disregard and lack of compassion they have for one of their own. I am looking at Wal-mart in a whole new light. I smell corporate lawyers and stuffy suits trying to wring every last cent they can out of anything they can. Why they put that small print clause in their insurance policy speaks volumes about this company. But, to go after an employee that is just terrible. Has Wal-mart even offered to help in anyway? At least start a fund raiser or something Wal-mart! GEEZO
