About Time!

This morning started out just like any other day. I got to my office, booted up my computer then went to get my cup of coffee. Sipped my coffee while waiting for the computer to finish loading. got my email running. Started deleting junk mail. Down to the last one. It was from NCARB. I figured it was just another announcement about the newly institute examination. I clicked on it anyway. I was floored when I read the email. It said "Your application was approved by the Board and a license was issued today." I kept on reading and re-reading, still unable to fully comprehend the email. You see, I just took my last two exams a few weeks back. I was still waiting for my results. I didn't really have any confident that I would pass the tests. So it was truly unexpected that I would be issued a license! I could hardly contain myself.

So after many years through a convoluted mean, I am finally an ARCHITECT!....registered in GA....
So watch out Charleston and SC...

Spring is really here at last

besides my allergy acting up, the sure sign of spring is my first sighting of hummingpuss. He was buzzing around the backporch this past weekend. I will need to relocate his feeder this year because ping ping is getting to be too clever.

wal-mart's greed

after watching a clip from cnn news about wal-mart suing a disabled employee, i decided that i am going to stop shopping at there again.

click on the link below see it for yourself if you haven't seen it already.

when you suggest boycotting wal-mart you get all kinds of reactions like it just can't be done. it is hard to break from wal-mart after all they are so cheap. believe it or not, it's possible to do this. i know many of us suffer from wal-mart addiction but, i have gone a whole year without stepping a foot in any of their stores. their low prices are alluring and it is convenient to do all your shopping in one place; but, with planning and coupons, you can achieve the same result. I may even have saved by not going to wal-mart that year. consider this, when you go into the store do you ever just get what you went in for? wal-mart has that effect on many of us too. you go in but see the "bargain" and buy it, thinking you’re saving money when you wouldn't have bought it in the first place. so, instead of saving you actually spend more than you would.

now, I know it's within their "legal" right to do what they did to the Shank family but I absolutely believe that it is morally wrong of them. life is more than just business and money....it's about having compassion for fellow human beings. just imagine yourself in that family's shoes. according to the report wal-mart made 90 BILLION dollars last quarter.

their response by acting like their hands are tied is absurd. Let me say it again NINETY BILLION DOLLARS. if this is how wal-mart treats its employees just think how much more they care about the consumers.

if you believe as strongly as i do, please consider emailing wal-mart to voice your disgust to them.

Refrain

trample through the deepest wood
keep coming back to the place, where once i stood
looming shadow trails each step
frightened will never be prepped

cautionary tale of the bygone days
tripping, tumbling along the way
deconstructing every single play
in the abyss where it should lay

gripping tight to my sanity - hope
seeking for a place of sanctuary - despair
drudging through mundanity - ecstasy
losing amongst obscurity - agony

life is but a memory

His Eyes

my friend steven and i wrote this poet after we saw a fatal accidence.
